During a customer on-site visit, one of our hose experts recognized a potentially hazardous situation regarding steam hoses. The customer had been using cam and groove hose ends and adapters in order to quickly change hose lines. In addition, the customer was using zip ties to secure the camlock ears. Although this may have worked with this style of hose end, it should never be used for a steam hose application. This situation can potentially lead to accidental disconnection and cause harm to an individual. Our Amazon Hose expert suggested using threaded ground joint style hose ends and adapters that are rated specifically for steam usage.
